The world is in your hands
Do you know it?
Maybe smugly.

Is your head too big?
Only for your wonder
To dream and believe
In what might be.

Do you need new eyes?
Only for your curiosity
To play with patterns
Swirling in kaleidoscopes

Where is your mouth?
Brushed shut and swollen
Biting on the words
No-one else dares to speak.

Foolish brave girl.
The sun is behind you
Because you walk ahead.
As you sit to stare,
At all that is imagined.
I’ve given you a face
A thousand times.

You’ve yet to launch
One ship but on some days
You smile upright,
All the possibilities,
And their delights,
Unravelling open.
